Saint Mary's alums crush Zag-heavy squad in The Basketball Tournament

SPOKANE — Omar Samhan scored a game high 20 points as Gael Force, comprised of former Saint Mary’s College standouts, routed Few Good Men, made up mostly of ex-Gonzaga players, 95-48 to win the Hoopfest Pod at The Basketball Tournament, a $2 million, winner-take-all event, Saturday night at Lewis and Clark High.

Gael Force, which beat the Air Force Bomb Squad 82-54 on Friday night at LC, advances to the Super 16 in the team’s first appearance in the TBT, in its third year.

Calvin Hermanson, who completed his eligibility at Saint Mary’s this past March, hit five of his eight 3-point attempts and finished with 18 points.

Robert Upshaw, a University of Washington product, led Few Good Men with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Few Good Men edged Team Utah 84-83 on Friday night.
