Idaho among best states for driving
Believe it or not, Idaho is among the best states for driving, according to a report from WalletHub.
Idaho ranked 12 nationwide in a report that compared the 50 states across four key dimensions: 1) cost of ownership and maintenance, 2) traffic and infrastructure, 3) safety, and 4) access to vehicles and maintenance. From there, WalletHub broke down the dimensions even further, into 23 relevant metrics, for better analysis.
The Gem State falls near the middle of the pack in cost, traffic and infrastructure, and rounds out the top five for safety. But Idaho ranks low when it comes to access to vehicles and maintenance, coming in at 41.
Washington, meanwhile, ranks 49 overall for driving. While Washington scored well in access to vehicles and maintenance, the state has one of the highest car theft rates, as well as high average gas prices.
