ART: Local is better

Read in Friday’s Press dated Jan. 12 that the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission is looking for artists to create bike racks for the library. To me this is demeaning to our local artists. It is my understanding that not one of the artists from Idaho was chosen to have their “art” erected at our local park. All “art” came from out of state.

Now you want to throw crumbs at our local artists. Why not get a couple of kids taking a metal shop class to do the work? Or maybe they don’t have those kinds of classes in schools these days.
