Lorraine Kelly, 73

Lorraine (Lorrie) Louise Kelly, age 73, of Post Falls, Idaho, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2018, in Indio, Calif. Lorrie was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Red Lodge, Mont. She was the daughter of Henry E. and Josie (Engler) Levi.

Lorrie was raised by her Granny in Red Lodge, where she attended St. Agnes Catholic Elementary School. Lorrie attended Red Lodge High School with the exception of her junior year, when she went to Kellogg High in Idaho. She graduated from Red Lodge High School in 1962. On Oct. 14, 1962, Lorrie married the love of her life, Thomas L. Kelly. They had three beautiful daughters together, Gina, Tracy and Jacque. All of the girls were born in Red Lodge, just like their mother. Tom and Lorrie started off their marriage working on several ranches, including a partnership with Tom’s parents. They lived in Bridger, Mont. for several years, where they met many lifelong friends. In 1979 they moved to Rathdrum, Idaho. She worked in Coeur d’Alene in banking for seven years, making many more friends. In 1986 Tom and Lorrie started their own business doing electrical contracting. In later years they purchased a mini storage in Post Falls, Idaho, and that is where they call home.

Lorrie loved to spend time with her girls and grandchildren. She had many interests including baking, sewing, quilting, decorating, reading, tending to her cats and traveling with her best friend and husband.

Tom and Lorrie enjoyed spending the winters in Arizona and the Palm Springs area of California.

Lorrie was preceded in death by her Granny, Margaret Engler; father, Henry Levi; mother, Josie Levi Nicholls; aunt, Loretta Levi and her friend and sister-in-law, Ann Levi.

Lorrie will be greatly missed by friends and family. She leaves behind her husband, Thomas L. Kelly; daughters, Gina (Stacy) Carhart, Tracy (Bob) Head and Jacque (Jack) Zimmerman; her grandchildren, Brianna, Brittany, Branigan and Brandon Carhart, Christina, Cassandra and Camber Head, Mitchell and Melanie Zimmerman; great-grandchildren, Emma Lee Head, Arianna Mitchell and Landon Carhart; her brother, Henry Levi; nephews, Mark, Mike, Hank and Joe Levi and many cousins. Our family will greatly miss her in an insightful conversation and contagious laughter. Wherever she went her sense of humor followed. She always said, “you know how to put the ‘P’ in pepper.”

A funeral service is noon Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Yates Funeral Home and Gathering Center, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, Idaho. A graveside service is at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 Government Way, following the service. A reception in Lorrie’s honor will be held in the Gathering Center at the Funeral Home.
