PUBLIC NOTICE The Idaho Transportation Department's Office of Highway Safety (OHS) announces the open Grant Application period for National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Federal grant funds aimed at behavioral traffic safety programs beginning on October 1, 2018. Priority highway safety program areas include safety restraint use, distracted driving, impaired driving, aggressive driving, youthful drivers, roadway safety/traffic records, and other problem areas that move Idaho toward our long term goal of "Toward Zero Deaths." All programs and projects must support the Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP). The purpose of the SHSP is to provide a data driven, system-wide, comprehensive, collaborative approach to eliminating fatalities and serious injuries on Idaho roadways.
