Don Pischner

80th Birthday

Don Pischner will be turning 80 years old on Feb. 28, 2018. Don was born in Coeur d’Alene and has a deep love for Idaho. He is a third-generation Idahoan whose grandparents settled north of Hayden Lake during the 1890s.

Don has a continued interest in the history of Idaho, its politics, characters and events of its territorial era. He has pursued his interest in the lives and adventures of “Chief Joseph,” “Lewis and Clark” and “William ‘Billie’ Clagett.” Don has written and shared stories about Idaho and Idaho people. In the 1980s, he served six years as a Trustee for the Museum of North Idaho. Don is currently serving on the Board of Trustees for The Idaho State Historical Society.

Don holds a degree in accounting from Humboldt State University. Don served in the Army. He has worked for H.F. Magnuson, Inland Asphalt Company and Idaho Forest Industries. Don was a four-term Idaho Legislator representing the people of three counties; Kootenai, Benewah and Shoshone.

Don has a private pilot’s license. Don loves to travel. Don takes on a project and gets it done. He is a loving father. He has two daughters, Helen Pischner and Cynthia Pishner-Raynor. Don has five grandchildren, Jared, Analisa, Bryce and Lilliana Raynor and Angelina Pischner.
