DRIVERS: Washington beatdown

I would like to expound on Steve Adams’ letter (Dec. 2) “Drivers: Beware white plates.” Approximately 30 percent of the license plates I see driving around the Coeur d’Alene area are from Washington. And that’s all they seem to do is drive around, with no destination in mind.

I’m not sure what draws them here — Washington has beautiful lakes and parks, more shopping than Coeur d’Alene, higher wages. We locals are always complaining about the increased traffic congestion, which could be cut by 30 percent if Washingtonians would just stay home. If that’s unrealistic, I just hope they’re spending a lot of money here.
