NOTARY: Lessons learned

I would like to thank Jerry Rose and Jennifer Lyda for their reply letters. In my original letter to the editor, I mistakenly stated what I thought were some of the duties of a Notary Public. I stand corrected. Both of the letters pointed out obvious misconceptions on my part. There is no way a Notary could validate every document presented to them. I must have had a momentary lapse of logic.

Also, I appreciate the civility of their replies; the language was straightforward, informative, and perhaps useful to our community as well.

Thanks for setting the record straight. We all benefit from accurate information.
