Peter Jay Naccarato

Peter Jay Naccarato passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2018, after a hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s disease. Pete was born on Oct. 14, 1942, to Jay and Dena Naccarato (Rinaldi) of Spokane Valley, Wash. He spent his youth working alongside his father, Jay at the Farmer’s Market and Garden Center in Spokane. He learned a great deal about business and relating to people from his time working at the Market and had a successful career as co-owner of Interstate Typewriter (later Interstate Office Supply) in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Pete attended Central Valley High School, where he formed lifelong friendships with many in the class of ‘61. A friend of Pete’s was a friend for life, and if you were fortunate to call him a friend, he would do anything for you. Pete truly enjoyed spending time at Arrow Point and the Iron Horse, drinking beer with his friends.

Pete is survived by his sister-in-law, Jacqui Naccarato; his son, Jay and daughter-in-law, Sharon Naccarato; his son, Larry and daughter-in-law, Julie Naccarato; his daughter, Dena Naccarato and son-in-law, Jeff Johnson; five grandchildren, Ryan and Andrea Neary (Naccarato), Christopher, Maria, Matthew and Chase Naccarato and several nieces, nephews and countless cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jay and Dena Naccarato, his brother, Chuck Naccarato and his nephew, Ric Naccarato.

Pete’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Valley Hospital and Hospice of Spokane for their kindness, caring and support in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation or Hospice of Spokane.

A party to celebrate Pete’s life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 22, 2018, at 2810 N. Meyer Road in Post Falls, Idaho.
