Vikings split with Missoula schools

MISSOULA — Elly Schraeder had seven kills, Kelly Horning six kills and Sarah Wilkey five kills for the Vikings in a 25-4, 25-21, 25-21 season-opening win at Hellgate High on Friday.

Lauren Phillips had 12 assists and six digs for Coeur d’Alene against Hellgate.

Later, Horning had 12 kills and Wilkey eight kills for the Vikings in a 25-20, 25-21, 25-20 loss to Sentinel of Missoula.

Coeur d’Alene (1-1) opens 5A Inland Empire League play at Post Falls on Tuesday.
