Nelson Call, 77

Nelson Call, age 77, of Spirit Lake, Idaho, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at Life Care in Post Falls, Idaho, four days after a stroke. Alzheimer’s had ruled Nelson’s life for at least three years. The family wishes to thank Life Care Center for truly compassionate care.

Nelson served in the United States Air Force. NASCAR, bowling, gardening and music were his passions for over 50 years — attending races nationwide, once bowling a 299, sharing his garden abundance and enjoying blues, country and bluegrass music with various artists and at home.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daniel; sister, Leora and brother, Alvin. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Edie; daughter, Cheryl and grandson, Trayven Call; and brothers, Terry and Ray. Stepchildren include Betty and David Durham, Michael Johnson, Tammy Callahan and Staci Powell, as well as step-grandkids and step-great-grandkids. He will be missed by family, in-laws, beloved friends, musicians and acquaintances. Special thanks to Dick, Judy and brother Terry, for generosity in final arrangements.

There will be a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. To view Nelson’s online memorial and sign the online guest book, please visit www.englishfuneralchapel.com
