Alice Leona (Harvey) Munn

Alice Leona (Harvey) Munn was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Plummer, Idaho, to Ivan and Anna (Rasmussen) Harvey, and passed from her earthly body on July 22, 2018, at Good Samaritan in Spokane Valley, Wash.

Due to her Dad’s job with the railroad, Alice attended schools in Hayden Lake and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Snohomish and Ritzville, Wash. She graduated from Ritzville High School in 1943. After graduation she moved to Spokane until she became engaged to William Munn of Coeur d’Alene. She and Bill first met in Coeur d’Alene while in the fourth grade. They were married March 19, 1944, in Chula Vista, Calif., while he was in U.S. Navy and just prior to Bill being shipped overseas during World War II. Alice returned to Spokane until Bill’s discharge, at which time they moved back to Coeur d’Alene, where they remained until last year when they moved to Good Samaritan in Spokane Valley.

Alice and Bill had three children, Mary Anne (1948), Linda Lee (1950) and Robert William (1954). While the children were in school, Alice was active in Camp Fire, PTA and band parents. She was a homemaker until her children were older, then worked at Wilson’s Pharmacy for several years. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling in their RV, oil painting, reading and gardening. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughters, Mary (Steve) Dorchak of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Linda (Rendell) Walters of Spokane Valley; daughter-in-law, Valerie Munn of Aberdeen, Wash.; brother, Rich (Sheri) Harvey of Yuma, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Vivien Harvey of Walla Walla, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 14-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bob; sister, Helen (Orval) Green and brother, Robert Harvey.

A memorial service for Alice will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church, 521 E. Lakeside Ave., Coeur d’Alene.
