Cougar Bay Preserve offers visitors a two-mile interpretive hiking trail and opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and watching birds and wildlife.

The 88-acre lakefront area is two miles south of Coeur d’Alene along U.S. 95.

The Cougar Bay lands are co-managed by The Nature Conservance and the Bureau of Land Management.

There are 34 rare animal species known to use the site, including 27 species of birds.
