COEUR d’ALENE — The North Idaho Pride Alliance is hosting its second Unity in the Community Dinner at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 4 p.m. today.

The dinner includes chili, broccoli cheddar soup, salad, cornbread, Italian bread, beverages and a dessert bar.

Local culinary notable and musician Kathy Colton will head the kitchen, and surprise celebrity servers will serve the meals.

The North Idaho Pride Alliance believes that it is important to take time to engage with the community.

"Any time we meet others for the first time, we expand our horizons," said board member Mark Haberman. "One such experience builds on another, and across months and years, we all become more engaged and connected."

Tickets for the Unity dinner are $5 and are available at the door. Carryout meals are available as well.

"The Unity Dinner is an opportunity for people to sit together over a wonderful meal, get to know each other and share our stories," said North Idaho Pride Alliance executive director Juli Stratton. "It is in this sharing that our compassion grows and our barriers diminish."
