| September 30, 2017 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Lake City rode the powerful legs of running back Grant Clark, got a trio of sacks from linebacker Brayden Pollow and dominated time of possession in the second half en route to a 31-14 win over Sandpoint in nonleague play Friday night at Barlow Stadium.

Clark finished with 186 yards on 30 carries to lead Lake City (2-3), scoring three touchdowns and setting a physical tone, as the Timberwolves ran 39 times for 217 yards, while holding the Bulldogs to just 31 yards rushing on 26 carries.

On the first second-half possession, Pollow registered a strip sack to create a big turnover, and a few plays later Pollow cashed in the drive with points, hauling in an 11-yard pass from quarterback Bryce Buttz for a 24-7 lead early in the third quarter.

PLUMMER — Bryar Sanchez ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more as the Knights beat the visiting Tigers in North Star League play on homecoming, which also turned out to be senior night.

“Bryar and Devin (Whaley-Arroyo, who ran for two touchdowns) did a big chunk of the workload,” Lakeside coach Chris Dohrman said. Vincent Gitto did a good job running the ball, as did Jayson Hall and Wakisa Vassar.”

Mullan, starting with just eight players, lost one to injury late in the first half, so the teams played 7 on 7 in the second half.

Lakeside’s final home game next week, vs. the Wallace junior varsity, was canceled due to lack of players for the Miners. The Knights (3-2, 3-1 North Star League) play three straight on the road to end the regular season, starting Oct. 13 at Timberline of Weippe.

Mullan is 0-4, 0-4.
