Margaret Ann Frey, 72

Margaret Ann Frey passed away Sept. 25, 2017, in Hayden Lake, Idaho. Born on April 17, 1945, in Kirkland, Wash., the daughter of Ed and Ethel Nordquist.

She attended Sacred Heart and Bellevue High School, followed by Washington State and the University of Washington, where she met her future husband, Thomas D. Frey. They were married in 1965 after his graduation from the University of Washington Law School. She and her husband raised their three children, Tommy, Matt and Mary in Bellevue.

While her husband engaged in private practice, Margaret Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, not only to her children, but all who entered her home. At Sacred Heart parish, she was a eucharistic minister, parish council member and parish secretary. At the school, she was an art docent and coached CYO sports. Family was the center of her life, with her children and their friends enjoying many days swimming and boating on Lake Washington.

In 1994, she and her husband moved to Hayden Lake, where they enjoyed semi-retirement and travel. Those travels took her to Rome, where she treasured her two meetings with St. John Paul II, to whom she became very devoted. She was truly a selfless woman. She continuously gave of her time, talent and treasure to those in need both within and outside her family.

She is survived by Tom, her husband of 52 years; her three children, Tommy, Matt and Mary; and her nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Allie, Jaxie, Emilia, Noah, Julia, Edmund, Sydney and JJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Hospice of North Idaho in her name.

The memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the Eastside Catholic High School’s Chapel in Sammamish, Wash. Reception following. Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, is entrusted with the care of local arrangements.
