'The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet' presented by Lake City High School
Troupe de Wolfe Productions is presenting its 2017 fall show, “The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet” by Peter Bloedel, on Sept. 28, 29, 30 and Oct. 5, 6, 7. Performances will be in the Lake City High School auditorium at 7 p.m.
This hilarious play reimagines William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” with wacky rhymes, kooky characters and crazy antics — the way Dr. Seuss would have written the script.
The cast brings to life new takes on the characters from the classic “Romeo and Juliet” story, including Romeo, played by Evan Schwaab and Juliet, played by Ricki Fehrenbacher. The play also introduces two nutty narrators, Aubrey Bernard and Katy Gribbin.
The rest of the cast includes Anthony Kirby (Prologue/ Paris), Cheyenne Miller (Sampson/Nurse), Erin Olson (Gregory/Princess/Servant), Gavin Reasor (Abram/Monk Larry), Noah Coll (Lord Capitulate), Melia Hannigan-Luther (Lady Capitulate), Zack Goodnature (Lord Monotone), Mallory Patton (Lady Monotone), Sebastian Goetz (Benvolio), Connor Brooks (Mercutio), and Josh Weadick (Tybalt),
The cast and band is rounded out by an energetic ensemble comprised of Makiah Paul, Nina Judd, Aislynn Oliver, Kylie Desjarlais and Marisa Butler.
The production team includes: Aubrey Bernard, costumes; Kylie Desjarlais, lighting design; Connor Brooks and Evan Schwaab, set design; Nina Judd, sound design and Kyra O’Reilly and Grace Hite, stage managers.
Lake City High Theatre Arts teacher, Sandra Seaton, will be directing.
“The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet” is presented by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for students and senior citizens, $6 for Lake City ASB cardholders and $5 for children under 12.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the front office at Lake City High, or at the door before the performances.
