Lake City sweeps Sandpoint

COEUR d’ALENE — Arlaina Stephenson had 11 kills and Zion Nelson eight kills and three blocks to power the Lake City Timberwolves to a 25-6, 25-16, 25-11 nonleague win over the Sandpoint Bulldogs on Wednesday at Lake City High.

“Tonight, we started a lot faster than we did last night (Tuesday’s three set sweep at Lewiston),” Lake City coach Mike Summers said. “We’ve been playing with a quick tempo on offense and had a balanced attack in the front row. Our serving was phenomenal tonight and Sandpoint had a hard time getting anything going.”

Klaire Mitchell had eight kills and 19 assists, Ashley Reyes 10 digs and three aces, Chloe Knudson six digs and two aces, Reilley Chapman six digs and Ashley Kaufman two aces for Lake City (16-0), which competes in a tournament at Rocky Mountain High in Meridian starting on Friday.

Sandpoint is 7-12.
