Richard Digby ‘Ozzie’ Osborne, 64

Richard Digby ‘Ozzie’ Osborne, 64, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017. Funeral services and military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint. A reception will follow at Trinity at the City Beach. Viewing times for friends and family will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, and from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He served a 22-year career with the United States Navy with the (UTC) Underwater Construction Team. He survived 92 deployments, a shark attack and was shot. After retiring from the Navy, he started a successful plumbing business, Ah-z Plumbing. Ozzie said, “My life was full, I’ve had a great life.”

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Digby Ludlam Osborne and his father, Raymond Bertram.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Tena Rae Dye Osborne; his mother, Dorothy; brother John (Cheri) Reynolds; nephews Chase, Park and Mac; sister Doris (Art) Strawbridge; nieces and nephew Tripp, Jamie and Laura, and Liza and Dan; great-niece Madeline and great-nephew Riley Fox; stepson John Reed; grandchildren Jonathan and Kathrine Reed, and Justice and Andrew Reed; great-grandchildren Lillian, Russell, Jackson and A-La; and all people who touched his life and made him happy.
