Casimer B. Marcinkowski, 92

Casimer B. Marcinkowski, 92, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away at home on Sept. 24, 2017. He was born June 2, 1925, to Xavier and Petronela Marcinkowski in Detroit, Mich. He was one of five children. Casimer was known to his friends and family as “Ski.”

Ski had the distinction of serving in three branches of the United States military; the U.S. Marine Corps., the U.S. Army/Air Force and then the U.S. Air Force. He served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force in 1970 after 26 years of service.

Ski is survived by his dear wife, Marlene, of Post Falls; brother Marion (Bettie) of Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Vicky Whitinger of Lewiston, Idaho; a son, Kenneth Summers (Sara) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; step-children Donna Gene Barracker (Michael), Bernice Ann Dixon (Randy) and Bryan Coombs (Pamela); as well as 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held in Ski’s honor at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls.
