Timberlake girls top improved St. Maries

SPIRIT LAKE — The St. Maries Lumberjacks shook the Timberlake Tigers with a goal just four minutes in, and the Tigers needed two goals in the last three minutes to put away the Lumberjacks 4-1 in Intermountain League girls soccer Tuesday night.
Shelby Starr’s go-ahead goal late in the first half proved to enough for Timberlake (7-2-1, 7-1-1 IML), which recorded its 100th program victory Thursday with a 4-1 triumph at Bonners Ferry.
“It was senior night ... I just think we came into this game not mentally prepared, and St. Maries gave us fits,” Timberlake coach Steve Michael said. “They played hard to the very end. We had our hands full, and we’ve got some things to work on.”
Janna Oelke scored for St. Maries (5-3-1, 4-3-1), which plays host to Coeur d’Alene Charter on Thursday.
Timberlake is home vs. Kellogg on Saturday.

LEWISTON — Rickie Colosimo scored twice in each half and Katie Jesienouski scored her first of the season as the Trojans beat the Bengals in a 5A Inland Empire League match at Post Falls High.
“Rickie has had so many shots this year that have missed by inches,” Post Falls coach Steve Mills said. “It was really nice to see her have a big four-goal night.”
