WRESTLING

Wolfpack Wrestling Club signups are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Lake City High School commons.

The first practice is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Lake City High School wrestling room.

The club is for ages kindergarten through eighth grade. Club fee is $60, which includes a T-shirt and USA Wrestling card.

Practices are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. Four area tournaments are optional, and come with an additional cost.

Lake City High varsity wrestling coach Corey Owen heads the instructional staff, which includes Lake City assistant coaches.

Seventh grade

Coeur d’Alene Chargers 32, Missoula Browns 20: A strong performance by the offensive line of the Chargers led to a victory over the Browns in Missoula last weekend. The Chargers got two touchdowns by Maddix Maciosek, two touchdowns by Zach Johnson, and an interception for touchdown by Gage Henson. The Chargers are off to a 2-0 start after defeating the Vikings 44-0 two weeks ago in the home opener.

North Idaho Inferno ’09 girls Sater: The Inferno won its IEYSA league opener 11-4 over the Sting Timbers 09G Green on Sept. 16 at Plantes Ferry Park in Spokane Valley.

On Sept 23 at Plantes Ferry Park, the Inferno team beat FC Spokane Burnham 8-6 playing short on players, and also beat Breakers FC Kishiyama 14-0 playing short two players.

Inferno ’08 girls Sater: The Inferno won its IEYSA league opener against the Spokane Breakers 08G Wittwer 14-0 at Franklin Park in Spokane on Sept. 16. Isabelle Sater scored 8 goals, Elena Nilson scored 2 goals, Karstyn Kiefer had a hat trick and Natalee Rose scored one goal.

On Sept. 23 the Inferno defeated the FC Spokane 08G Salter team, 12-0, at Plantes Ferry Park. Karstyn Kiefer scored 4 goals, Zoe Thimas had 2 goals, Elena Nilson scored 2 goals, Natalee Rose had 2 goals, and Avry Wright and Isabelle Sater each scored one goal.

Sting Timbers FC girls ’04 Red: The Sting Timbers beat the Wenatchee FC G04 Vasquez 3-0 at Canfield Middle School in PSPL league play. Goals were scored by Isabella Lucky (2) and Kalena Flowers. Reagan Cherry had an assist. Danika Nowak had another shutout as goalkeeper.

Sting Timbers ’05 girls: The Sting beat United SC 1-0. Mira Crawford scored the goal with an assist from Ella Morton.

The Sting then beat FC Spokane 2-0. Avery Waddington scored and Mira Crawford scored with an assist from Avery Waddington.

Sting Timbers ’08 girls (green): The Sting dropped two games to CWSA CWS G08 Lizotte on Saturday. Sting Timbers goals in the first game were scored by Anna Ploof and Cameron Fischer, with assists by Anna Ploof and Hanna Shafer.

Sting Timbers goals in the second game were scored by Anna Ploof (2), Ella Pearson, Izabella Entzi, Libby Montgomery, Hanna Shafer and Eleanor Moss.

Sting Timbers ’08 girls (yellow): The Sting defeated the Spokane Foxes Pumas FC 08 Ives 1 2-1. Sting Timbers goals were scored by Izzy Grimmett and Ally Carrico.

Sting Timbers ’03 boys Red: On Saturday, the Sting beat the Spokane Fox Pumas B03 6-1. River Engles led STFC with 3 goals. Cooper Larson had 2 goals and 1 assist. Tyler Gasper added 1 goal. Walker Jump had 2 assists. Kohrt Weber and Noah Janzen each had 1 assist. Tyler Allred was in goal for STFC.
