Della Fay Bernhart, 87

Della Fay Bernhart, 87, passed away Sept. 21, 2017 at Hospice House of North Idaho. She was born on April 5, 1930, in Wardner, Idaho to Robert Glenn and Zelda M. (Upchurch) Reynolds.

She was raised in Cave Lake and attended Harrison High School. She met Melvin E. Bernhart in Harrison and they were married on Nov. 5, 1947. They lived in the Kellogg area between 1968 and 1986. Della lived in Coeur d’Alene prior to her death. She was a resident of Harbor Island and enjoyed the many friendships she made there throughout the years.

Fay was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with her beloved dog, Lilly, and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed.

Fay is survived by her children, Vicki Rieken (Mike) of Post Falls, Sheri Boyer (Jim) of Post Falls, Kevin Bernhart (Robin) of Albuquerque, N.M., and Keith Bernhart (Stacie) of Coeur d’Alene; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fay was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Reynolds; her husband, Mel Bernhart; brother, Theodore “Ted” Reynolds and her son, Robert “Bob” Bernhart.

There will be a visitation from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice House of North Idaho.
