THANKSGIVING: Feed your neighbors

| September 26, 2017 10:46 PM

On Sept. 29, Turkeys & More will have a benefit concert at the Kroc Center to raise money for the Community Action Partnership (CAP) Food Bank’s Thanksgiving distribution fund. Our goal is to serve 1,600 families in Kootenai County with a turkey and all the trimmings and let them know people in our community care about them.

Please buy a $25 ticket to the Showcase of Talent event by calling the Kroc at (208) 667-1865 or go online: kroccda.org/calendar. Director Mike Bolan promises an enjoyable evening provided by exceptional local talent. Kroc staff will be available the evening of the Show to pass out “Will Call Tickets” or to sell tickets if any seats are left.

If you can’t attend the concert, please consider mailing a donation check to: Nicol Barnes, Manger, CAP Food Bank, 4144 W. Industrial Loop, CDA 83815 and indicate the funds are for Turkeys & More. Estimated cost for the turkeys and food is nearly $32,000.

Every week, approximately 1,000 families use the CAP Food Bank. These people can be single parents, the disabled, the sick, the elderly on fixed incomes and the homeless. Holidays tend to be stressful for all of us, but they are harder on people who are living in poverty. Can you shine a little love to them by contributing to the Turkeys & More fundraising efforts? Thank you for proving that Coeur d’Alene truly is a City with a Heart!
