Man dies after being shot by Bonner County deputies
State police are in the early stages of investigating a fatal shooting involving Bonner County Sheriff’s deputies. The incident occurred this morning near Coolin, on the southern shore of Priest Lake.
The male subject of a felony arrest warrant was shot by deputies after they attempted to serve the warrant around 9 a.m., according to Idaho State Police, the lead investigating agency.
The subject was armed and exhibited hostile behavior toward the deputies, which led to the deputies firing upon him, said ISP, in a news release.
The man was injured and medical attention was rendered. A ground ambulance carried the subject to an air ambulance for further transport, but the subject died en route to the air ambulance.
At this time, next of kin notifications are underway.
