John Edward Folsom, 72
John Edward Folsom went to be with his Lord on Aug. 1, 2017, passing quietly at home with his wife at his side in Hayden Lake, Idaho. He was born in Pasadena, Calif., on May 7, 1945, to John and Betty Folsom.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Sr.
John married his longtime friend and love, Joyce, in San Marino, Calif., in April 1987. John was raised in Temple City, Calif., where he graduated from Temple City High School in 1963. He attended Pasadena City College and the University of Southern California majoring in metallurgical engineering.
His career in the metal’s industry included being with Gregg Industries in El Monte, Calif., as Plant Superintendent; Performance Aluminum Products, El Monte as Vice President-Sales; and LA Aluminum Casting Co., Hayden Lake, Idaho, as Manager of Sales and Quality Control. Prior to retirement, John was a Metallurgical Consultant for Mouchard International in Laguna Beach, Calif.
John had two siblings, older brother Fred Folsom and younger sister Sally Ervolina of San Dimas, Calif. Also many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. John was blessed with three sons, Jeffery Edward of Sacramento, Calif., Todd Christopher and Gregory John of Roseville, Calif.; and stepchildren Paul Machi of Fontana, Calif., and Linda Machi of Alhambra, Calif. He has a total of 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. John was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather and brother.
John was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, being a member of the Pasadena Consolidated Lodge for 49 years. He enjoyed golf and fishing. John had a long illness with atherosclerosis.
He will be missed by family and friends.
A gathering for friends and family was held at the family home.
