FRIENDS: Keep us afloat
I just wanted to take a moment and point out the good in some people. On July 3rd my wife and I found ourselves broke down on our boat on Lake Coeur d’Alene. A nice group of youths agreed to tow us to the nearest boat launch.
We originally thought about going to Higgens Point, but at the last moment my wife said, “Let’s try Delavan’s Marina instead.” After being dropped off, we discovered the damage to our boat was worse than expected: We were not only disabled, but the tilt was broken and we were unable to get the boat out of the water.
The waves were crashing the boat into the dock when we noticed a kind gentlemen who identified himself as Greg Delavan, the owner. Instead of asking us to leave, he offered to move us to a calmer space inside the marina. He even recommended calling Ben and Andrea at Quality Auto and Marine for help. A few days later Ben and Andrea personally showed up at Delavan’s and managed to get our boat out of the water and begin repairs.
I am currently fighting cancer and my wife and I have faced many setbacks this year. We prayed for God’s help and he sent us Greg, Ben, Andrea, and a boat full of young adults to lift us up. Thank you God, and God bless them all.
