Courtesy photo Senior football player Coleton Kazmierczak is this week’s Post Falls High School Athlete of the Week. In three quarters Kazmierczak had 11 total tackles including 3 tackles for loss, a QB hurry, ½ sack and a blocked punt in a win over Cheney.

WRESTLING

Buzzsaw Wrestling Club: Signup night for the USA Wrestling-sanctioned club is scheduled for Oct. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Coeur d’Alene High wrestling room.

The club, for wrestlers in grades 1-8, practices Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Coeur d’Alene High wrestling room.

Practice for the feeder program for Coeur d’Alene High wrestling starts Oct. 10.

Cost is $50, which includes a USA Wrestling card, T-shirt and instruction.

Coeur d’Alene High head wrestling coach Jeff Moffat heads the instructional staff, which includes Viking assistant coaches and Viking wrestlers.

Sting Timbers FC ’06 Boys Green: The Sting played two games last week. In the first game they defeated IEYSA Storm FC Lightning 7-1. Brayden Ristic scored a hat trick and had an assist, Kai Delio scored 2 goals, Noah Waddell had a goal and an assist, Grant Schofield scored a goal, Gavin Samayoa had 2 assists and Alex Patterson and Gabe Jones each had an assist.

In the next game, the Sting shut out Wenatchee FC 3-0. Noah Waddell and Grant Schofield each scored a goal, and Brayden Ristic had an assist. The last shot was a deflection off the other team.

Sting Timbers Girls ’04: The Sting team began PSPL league play against Spokane’s Foxes/Pumas FC G04 Kropp squad at Franklin Park in Spokane on Sept. 12, and came away with a 3-1 win. Goals were scored by Molly Foster, Kalena Flowers, and Isabella Lucky. Amy Corette had an assist.

Furthering their PSPL play on Sept. 18, the Sting hosted FC Spokane G04 Clayton, and won 2-0. Goals were scored by Isabella Lucky on a breakaway, and Kalena Flowers, with Shelbie Shriner assisting. Danika Nowak had the shutout as keeper.

North Idaho Inferno FC Hartzell ’07 girls: The Inferno defeated the Spokane Sounders G07 Valley B 3-1 in league play, with goals from Mallory Judd, Kennedy Hartzell and Lily Bole and several great saves from goalkeeper Dani Todd.

Sting Timbers FC Boys ’03 Red: On Friday, Sting beat the Spokane Breakers B03 Red 12-0. Noah Janzen led STFC with 4 goals and 1 assist. Walker Jump had 2 goals and 3 assists. Joseph Sarkis and Tyler Gasper each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Cooper Larson, Miles Jones and Connor Norris each had 1 goal each. Tyler Allred was in goal for the shutout.

On Sunday, the Sting travelled to Pasco, Wash., and lost to Tri-Cities FC 4-3. Walker Jump led STFC with 3 goals. Tyler Gasper and Alex Reyes each had 1 assist.

Sting Timbers FC Boys ’06 Red: On Saturday, the Sting beat CWSA B03 White 10-5. Kason Pintler led STFC with 5 goals. Haidyn Jonas added 2 goals. Connor Jump and Max Entzi each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Jacob Molina had 1 goal and 3 assists.
