REDNECKS: Texas hypocrisy

| September 20, 2017 1:00 AM

I wanted to respond to “Rednecks in Bass Boats.” Is Mr. Walton joking or is he unaware of the national news the past few years? Texans (also the people of Louisiana and Florida) shout constantly about federal government interference. They don’t want their guns taken away. They don’t want their women to have the right to choose. There’s been talk the past few years about Texas becoming an independent country. Oh, but now that they are hurting after this latest hurricane, they are not going to hesitate to suckle at the federal government’s teat.

Who’s going to pay for it? Taxpayers all over the rest of the country, that’s who, including the people of Idaho. I want to know, why should my tax dollars go to bail out these arrogant rich creeps? I don’t believe in what they believe in. I’m not a Christian, nor am I a Saturday night beer-drinking redneck. These people want to live on the seashore. Every year, they need bailing out and every year they get it. It’s been written about in economic articles time and again that they should be denied insurance because of where they live, but it’s always denied in Congress because of the power of their lobbyists.

Why should our tax dollars go to them? Because they are gun-toting Christians? This is illogical. This is nonsense. As soon as they get from their bellies to their knees and then again, totter to their feet, they will go back to shouting about government interference, and take a break from paying the kind of insurance they should pay, which is $5,000 a month.
