Lois Laverne Hoialmen, 86

Lois L. Hoialmen (Zahnow) passed away Sept. 7, 2017, at her home in San Marcos, Calif. Lois was born March 19, 1931, in Fergus Falls, Minn., she was the daughter of Albert and Violet Zahnow.

Throughout her life Lois found great comfort in Catholicism and her faith was a guiding force in her life. She spent much of her life providing for those she loved and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She raised her children in Santa Ana, Calif., and retired with her husband to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

She is survived by her children, Vernetta Corcoran, Jeffrey Corcoran, Jane Ortega (Hoialmen) and Brian Hoialmen; her sister, Joann Dawson; her grandchildren, Lisa Maldonado, Deja Cueva, Jennifer Corcoran and Brandon Corcoran; and her great-grandson, Xavier Allison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Hoialmen and her son, Steven Corcoran; as well as her parents; her first husband, Donald Corcoran; and her siblings, Phyllis Holly, Kay Stinnett, Betty Freeman, Milo Zahnow, Robert Zahnow and Albert Zahnow Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 6628 Santa Isabel St., Carlsbad, Calif. Reception to follow.
