Crash kills Rathdrum woman
A woman was killed Thursday in a three-vehicle crash on Hwy 53 near Radian Road in Rathdrum.
Naomi Strobel, 43, of Rathdrum, died at the scene of the crash, according to Idaho State Police.
The collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. when Strobel was driving a green 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on Hwy 53. Strobel’s vehicle was struck in the rear by a white 1997 Buick LeSabre driven by Phillip R. Decker, 34, of Pocatello.
Strobel lost control of her vehicle and went into the eastbound lane of travel. Strobel’s Jeep was then hit by an eastbound vehicle, a white 1991 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Talon C. Dewey, 18, of Sagle.
The road was blocked for four hours. All drivers were wearing their seatbelts, according to ISP.
Decker and Dewey suffered minor injuries and were not transported to the hospital, according to ISP.
