CHS boys soccer rolls past Lakeland
COEUR d’ALENE — Junior forward Gabe Nazemi and sophomore midfielder Drake Prohaska each had three goals as host Coeur d’Alene beat Lakeland 8-0 in a rescheduled nonconference match.
The Vikings (3-1) scored five goals in a seven-minute span of the second half to break open the game.
“It was the first time we actually walked on grass since last Monday, and our first game in 12 days,” CHS coach Jeff Lake said. “We could have converted more of our chances in the first half, but then we had an incredible stretch of five goals over seven minutes early in the second half.”
Chris Swider and Dakota Fisbeck added goals for the Vikings, who travel to Lewiston Wednesday.
Bradley Munson had nine saves in goal for Lakeland (1-4), which hosts Timberlake today.
- The Lake City-Coeur d’Alene boys soccer match which was postponed last week due to smoky conditions has been re-scheduled for noon Saturday, Sept. 30, at CHS.

SPOKANE — The Timberwolves continued their strong play, following Saturday’s Lakeland tournament title with a 25-15, 25-8, 25-14 road win that improved their record to 10-0.
“It took a little while to get going, but once we did, we started clicking on all cylinders,” coach Mike Summers said. “We were able to get a lot of girls involved and they played well.”
Arlaina Stephenson had 13 kills to lead the T-Wolves; Ashley Kaufman and seven kills and four aces; and Klaire Mitchell had 35 assists, five aces and 13 digs. Ashley Reyes led the Lake City defense with 19 digs while Claire Heberer and Zion Nelson had two blocks each.
Lake City hosts Coeur d’Alene today in 5A Inland Empire action.
