Darrel Ray Gardner, 62

Darrel Ray Gardner passed away at the Schneidmiller Hospice of North Idaho on Sept. 2, 2017, at 2:12 p.m. in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the age of 62.

Darrel is survived by his parents, Sue and Edward Gardner; wife Linda Gardner; sons Jeremy, Michael and Edward; and sisters Karen, Cherie and Bonnie.

Darrel was born on May 18, 1955, in Miami, Fla. He married Linda Jo in August 1977. After moving to Idaho, he began working for Sunshine Mint as a Coiner, before his hard work made him eligible to be promoted to Lead Coiner. He continued employment with Sunshine for 11 years. His children remember him as a hardworking father who taught them an incredible work ethic.

He was a loving father to three sons, Jerry, Michael and Edward Gardner; a loyal husband to Linda Gardner; a beloved son to Sue and Edward Gardner; and a mentor and friend to too many to list. He was a witty individual who loved comedy, NASCAR and fishing, and who was dedicated to his family above all.
