Clarice Louise Drube, 63

Clarice Louise Drube was born April 7, 1954; not one to come quietly, always challenging, with an inquisitive nature and curious mind. She is preceded in death by her mother, Erla Claire and her father, Patrick Joe Smith.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gregory; her children, Derek (Kelli), Jessica (Brian) and Kyle (Abby); brother Patrick (Sharon); brother-in-Law Terry (Chris); six active grandchildren, Wesley, Maddison, Ainsley, Caleb, Oliver and Alma; family friend and former exchange student, Tomomi Tamura Omori; and “Nurse” Goldie, her miniature Doberman pinscher.

Clarice was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was active as a Cub Scout leader/trainer, forest technician, emergency medical technician, member of the North Idaho Quilters Guild, para educator, special education teacher and special needs supporter. She enjoyed walking, gardening, quilting, hiking, reading and dogs. But, the thing she loved the most was spending time with family. She lived most her life in Washington and Oregon, but recently moved to Idaho with her husband to enjoy the changing seasons.

Our Lord called Clarice home on the morning of Aug. 30, 2017, after a battle with cancer. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at the Maple Street Community Church in Hayden, Idaho.

In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made in honor of Clarice to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC).
