COUNTY: Growth is enough

Regarding the 1.5 percent property tax increase, thank you, Lagonda McDonald, for your direct response Wednesday. Many of us feel the same.

Front page Coeur d’Alene Press Sunday: “Any way you count it, Idaho’s economy soaring.” The amount of dirt being turned in our county is pretty remarkable.

Housing starts close to record highs, the other sectors — commercial, industrial, retail — all showing growth. I’m pretty sure the public understands what growth brings.

The growth has brought increased revenues simply by the gross numbers of taxpayers.

Simply put, is a 1.5 percent increase really necessary? Welcome to the Washington, D.C.-style “Tax & Spend.”
