Sandy Kay ‘Steele,’ 57
Sandy Kay “Steele,” 57, of Hayden, Idaho, went to be with Jesus on Sept. 2, 2017. She was surrounded by her two daughters, family and close friends in her home.
Sandy was born to Joseph and Mary Steele in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on March 13, 1960. She is survived by her mother, Mary Steele of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Dana and Sally Sperle of Hayden, Idaho; sisters Linda (Chuck) Wiegert of Mount Holly, N.C., and Patricia Steele of Newman Lake, Wash.; brothers Larry Steele of Coeur d’Alene and Mike (Debbie) Steele of Post Falls, Idaho; uncles Lonnie Knutson of Hoonah, Alaska, and Ronald Knutson of Oroville, Calif.; aunt Margaret Russell Jirsa of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also preceded in death by her father, Joseph Steele; grandparents Homer and Bernice Steele, and Myron and Eva Knutson; and uncle Gene Steele.
In lieu of flowers, we will be collecting monetary donations during her memorial for the UGM’s Center for Women and Children in Coeur d’Alene. If you donate through the website, please select “Give in honor of someone” and select “Designate” the gift to the “Center for Women and Children.” You may also write a check to: Union Gospel Mission at 1224 E. Trent Ave., Spokane, WA, 99202, with a “Center for Women and Children” memo.
Sandy requested no services, funeral or burial ceremonies.
Instead, we will be holding an open house memorial in her honor from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at her home, 685 E. Dakota Ave., Hayden. Please bring a small finger food tray to share and a picture with a memory.
