Sherry Blish, 36

The light of humanity dimmed a bit recently, when Sherry Blish passed away unexpectedly, Aug. 23, 2017. She was a woman of immense strength, character, will and humor. Her laughter could fill stadiums that could only hope to contain her charisma. She was at the center of many lives, including her beloved 10-year-old son Sean — an incredible young man who has been dealt a bad hand, but who has the same will, strength and tenacity as his mother, and will overcome all adversity.

While Sherry was only 36 when she passed away in Rathdrum, Idaho, she had the same effect on those around her as anyone blessed with a much longer life. She lived every day to its fullest, while surrounding herself with friends and family who cherished her.

Professionally, she dedicated her life to those in need, whether they be elderly, or with mental disabilities. Sherry’s true depth of character and love for all cannot be overestimated. She was a light in a dark world for those in most need and her family — and she never even realized it.

We will love and miss you always, Sher-bear.

Sherry was led into heaven by her father, Gary Blish; and survived by her son, Sean Powell; mother Vicki Blish; brother Greg Blish; sisters Wendy Russum and Addie Pannell, and their husbands Aaron and Jamie; along with a plethora of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her life will be celebrated during a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at the Rathdrum City Park.
