Andy Lee Baker, 58

Andy Lee Baker, of Post Falls, Idaho, went to be with his Lord on Aug. 30, 2017, at 6:38 p.m. with his wife and two children by his side. He was born in Hawthorne, Calif., on Feb. 15, 1959, to Bertis and Geraldine Baker; however, his home was Hobart, Okla.

February of 1992, Andy married his wife, Mary Ann Lyon, in Abilene, Kan. Their first child, Rachel, was born a year later and shortly after, they moved to Post Falls and worked at the Greyhound Park and Event Center when it once was solely a race track. After closing, the family moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to continue racing, but relocated back to Idaho in 1998 and had their second child, Jacob.

A devoted husband and father, faithful member of Post Falls Baptist Church, and working as the maintenance director of the Greyhound Park since the early 2000s, Andy was known and loved by all for his honest character, hard work ethic and kind spirit.

Andy is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Baker; daughter Rachel Grafton and her husband, Brad; son Jacob Baker; mother Geraldine King; sister Yolanda Starr; brother Mark Baker and his wife, Frances; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and brother-in-law Danny Lyon.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bertis; and his two sisters, Kolita and Terri.

A special thanks to the caring staff at Hospice North Idaho Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Post Falls Baptist Church, 1609 N. Spokane St.
