TAXES: Spend less - period

| September 3, 2017 1:00 AM

I don’t think any of the Republicans in precinct 48 will support an increase on their property tax. As their elected spokesman on the County Republican Central Committee, I can say without equivocation that not one of these elected Republican office holders would have been elected if they told us they would raise taxes.

Am I now duty bound to support any of them? Rather, they are duty bound to make a better case for their folly than what The Press reported Tuesday.

Elected officials will need to provide more enlightenment than competitive salary hand-wringing, worn out rhetoric about who serves whom and how efficiently we are being governed even with increased demand for more services because of growth. Spend less, learn to say no to these so-called demands, and pay attention to the property taxpayers.
