BOOMERS: Not the bad guys

| September 1, 2017 1:00 AM

I have been a resident of Kootenai County since 1976 and taken The Press most of this time, although now we are RVing, I still keep in touch with home base by taking The Press online. Many times I have felt like writing letters but sat back and taken a deep breath, then decided that starting an argument was not worth it.

However, in an article in Sunday’s Press titled “Give Me Shelter,” I have finally reached my boiling point. Even though the writer does not work for The Press, and this article was taken from the Bellingham Herald, I want to know when the Baby Boomer generation started “taking the blame for many of society’s ills?” When was it that Baby Boomers were declared the “Worst Generation” and who made this determination, based on what evaluation process?

These are terms and accusations I had not heard before Sunday and I wonder why the writer would take an otherwise positive article and have to ruin the mood and temper by being so negative about others. Is this the attitude that The Press takes also?
