Alive with the 'Sound of Music' at the Kroc
While Oktoberfest isn’t here quite yet, there’s a chance to break out the lederhosen and yodel in public, with billy goats, and little brown packages tied up with strings.
The Sound of Music Sing-a-Long returns Sept. 9 to the Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Road, Coeur d’Alene.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., audience members will begin practicing with a vocal warm up and “dress rehearsal” so to speak. Included with the $15 admission price is a ‘magic moments fun pack’ which includes props to use at appropriate times throughout the show.
The whole thing lasts about three hours and 50 minutes including the intermission. Participants are encouraged to dress up as anyone or anything representative of the film. The movie will be played in full technicolor, with subtitles, so all attendees can sing their favorite tunes from the classic film.
A June sing-along was a resounding, melodious success.
The Sound of Music Sing-a-Long show started in the U.K. in 1999. It has become a globally popular event and has played more than 10,000 shows in 11 different countries. A portion of the proceeds for the Kroc Center show will benefit the Kroc Center scholarship fund.
