Caroline “Carol” Agnes Rotan, 87

Caroline (Carol) Agnes Rotan, 87, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was born on July 6, 1930 in St. Paul, Minn. Her mother was Bertha (Reller) Peters and her father was William Reller. She attended school in St. Cloud, Minn.

She was employed by Honeywell for a short time and then National Garages in Minneapolis as a cashier for 20 years. She married David C. Rotan on April 14, 1973 in Detroit, Mich. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1995.

Carol was a member of El Karnak Temple #2 in Coeur d’Alene; Past High Priestess of Eiram Court #62, Ladies Oriental Shrine in Spokane, Wash. and Past President of Ladies Oriental Shrine #7 in Coeur d’Alene. She was also a member of the St. Pius X Church in Coeur d’Alene and was active in voluntary service work for the Coeur d’Alene Shrine Club Screening Clinic and various other community services.

She is survived by stepson, Gary Hagen of Ottertail, Minn.; stepdaughter, Laura Rotan Moore of Claymont, Del.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial service after cremation to be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, in the St. Pius X Church and followed by a Ladies Oriental Shrine service.

Memorials should be sent to the Shrine Hospital for Children, Spokane Unit, Spokane, Wash..

Inurnment will be at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
