Marjorie Martha Hart, 91

Marjorie Martha Hart, 91, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away peacefully at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born April 8, 1926, to Loyal L. and Mabel M. Bear in Wymore, Neb.

She attended schools in Wymore, Beatrice and Holmesville, Neb. She moved to Perris, Calif., with her parents after graduating from Riverview High School in Holmesville, Neb., class of 1944. She worked as a waitress until her marriage to the love of her life, James Walter Hart, on Dec. 18, 1948, in Yuma, Ariz.

Marjorie became a devoted full-time housewife and mother. They lived many places in the USA during Jim’s time in the U.S. Air Force. They moved to Oldtown, Idaho, in 1977 from Oceanside, Calif., after Jim’s retirement. In 1993, they moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, until 2013 upon Jim’s death after 65 years of marriage. In 2014, she moved to her daughter’s home in Blackfoot, Idaho.

She is survived by her only living sibling, Esther Dell of Beatrice; children James Michael Hart and wife Michelle of Bow, Wash., Teresa L. Tapia and husband Ronald of Blackfoot, and Dennis E. Hart and wife Louise of Rathdrum; five grandsons and three granddaughters; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and five sisters.

Marjorie was a born-again believer and her greatest joys were attending church services, teaching/assisting with children’s church and singing hymns. She enjoyed being a part of the local Granny Band.

The family would like to thank Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care and special thanks to the staff at Gem Village in Blackfoot for the wonderful care she was given while living there.

Marjorie will be buried next to her husband, Jim, with a graveside service at noon Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Pinegrove Cemetery (Highway 53 and Meyer Road), Rathdrum. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at Rathdrum Bible Church, 15127 N. Stevens St., Rathdrum.
