HARRISON FLATS — The numbers game caught up to the Warriors, but the fight was right there all night.

Andrew Whipple caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Gage Maitland in the second quarter for the Warriors — who played with the mininum eight players — in a White Star League loss to the Mustangs.

“We played a lot better this week,” said Kootenai coach Doug Napierala, whose team lost at Kendrick 88-6 on Oct. 6. “We’ve been suffering through some injuries to limit our numbers, so we’ve been challenging them to get better as individuals and as a team. The kids played hard and did some new things. We got better, and Deary’s a solid squad — both them and Kendrick. It was good to go out and compete and not worry about the score and just focus on getting better, and we accomplished that today.”
