Roseanne ‘Rose’ Patricia Robertson, 61

Roseanne Patricia Robertson “Rose” passed away peacefully Oct. 4, 2107, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Rose was born in Brisbane, Australia, on Feb. 23, 1956, to Joan and Kyron Rockett, and has one sister, Lorinda. She attended art school and pursued a modeling career with several magazine and TV appearances. She then found her passion in promotions, working for Estee Lauder. Rose continued to paint successfully and won the Harold Richardson Prize for “Refresh-ment Corner.” Her husband insisted that the painting not be sold and it now hangs in her family home.

Rose met her husband, Don, in 1984 and this began a lifetime of travel as his work took him around Australia, settling finally on the Gold Coast in Queensland. In 2001, on Australia Day, this proud Australian moved to the United States. She spent 15 years in California, the last seven in the Sierra Nevada ranges, whose natural beauty inspired her. In 2016 she moved to Bayview, Idaho, after she and her husband fell in love with its exquisite beauty on a vacation. She derived enormous pleasure from her surroundings there and the wonderful local community and confided that she had finally found her true “home.”

Rose suffered a debilitating disease throughout her adult life, but always projected courage, optimism and joy. She was an inspiration to many and loved by all. Throughout her life, she was a passionate advocate for animals and adopted or saved many birds, cats and dogs, all of whom enriched her life in return.

She is survived by her husband, Don; her sister, Lorinda and her mother, Joan. And, of course, her cat, Melvin and two Boxer dogs, Titan and Boo.

In lieu of flowers, Rose would have been delighted if anyone wishing to honor her memory made a donation to Norcal Boxer Rescue (ncbr.org).

Rose will be buried Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017. The viewing will be from at 10 a.m. to noon at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. An informal service at graveside will be around 1 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Athol, Idaho. Anyone is welcome to follow to the family home after the ceremony.

Please visit Rose’s memorial and sign her online guest book at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.

Please find happy moments to remember. She was always an optimist and joyful.
