Spinal decompression option safe, noninvasive procedure
If you are looking for an alternative to spinal surgery or pain medication, take a look at spinal decompression. The normal protocol for back or neck pain is usually a combination of pain medication and physical therapy followed by surgery if the desired results are not achieved. These are good options, but can be scary.
Spinal decompression is a FDA cleared treatment that is safe, noninvasive, and drug free that has been utilized since being first invented in early ’90s. But it is a fairly new concept in the northwest. So new, that many medical doctors or physical therapists don’t understand the full benefit of this procedure. Spinal decompression is not a cure all and not everyone is a candidate for this procedure.
My experience and studies show that 85-90 percent of patients who have had spinal decompression have made drastic improvements. Spinal Decompression has been utilized in the treatment of disc bulges or herniations, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, carpal tunnel, and spinal stenosis.
Spinal decompression tables are controlled by a computer that monitors the amount of weight in which is applied to the body. The computer applies different amounts of pressure which causes an oscillating effect on the disc, which creates a negative pressure within the disc. This negative pressure inside the disc causes fluids and nutrients to be pulled into the disc, while reducing the disc bulge, thus helping the disc heal. Spinal decompression is a safe alternative technique that has been utilized for years around the world. Many people who have degenerative disc disease have no options and surgical candidates have less options. The sad truth is that this procedure is not talked about in the medical community as a viable option which is very unfortunate. Word of mouth is growing as each person treated who has miraculous results can’t wait to talk about their successful experience.
“As a surgeon, I only want to do surgery when I absolutely have to. Non-surgical spinal decompression Therapy gives my patients a more conservative treatment option that can eliminate the need for surgery altogether, and that’s a good thing.” — Dr. Bernard Zeliger, DO, FACOS, FAOAO, FICS Osteopathic Physician and Orthopedic Surgeon Founding Dean and Provost of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine; Vallejo, Calif.
