Yankoff only played the first two quarters and still managed 212 yards passing and 4 passing TDs. Yankoff also ran for 123 yards, including a 47-yard TD run in the win over Capital Christian of Sacramento, Calif.

North Idaho Inferno FC Hartzell girls ’04: The Inferno defeated Sandpoint Strikers FC Giese 3-1 in league play. Inferno goals came from Olivia Azzonllini, Vivien Matthews and Caitlyn Urdrian. Josie Romero and Johnna Gaylor shared time in goal.

Inferno FC Hartzell girls ’06: The Inferno played to a scoreless tie with the Sting Timbers FC 06G White on Sept. 29 in league play.

Sting Timbers ’05 girls: The Sting Timbers tied the Spokane Foxes 1-1 on Saturday. Jocelyn Dennis scored the goal for Sting.

Sting Timbers FC girls ’04 Red: The Sting beat the IEYSA G04 Valor 4-1 on Sept. 29 at Canfield Middle School in PSPL play. Sting goals were scored by Lucy Evans, Shelbie Shriner, Olivia Wyatt and Gabby Roberts.

The Sting then beat the Endeavour Soccer Academy 04 Wallace 3-1 on Sept. 30 in Moses Lake. Sting goals were scored by Isabella Lucky (2) and Olivia Wyatt. Kayla Dearmin and Amy Corette had assists.

Sting Timbers FC ’04 boys Red: The Sting defeated Three Rivers SC White 2-0 last Saturday. Sting goals came from Noah Janzen (Bryce Allred assist), and Tyler Gasper (Bryce Allred assist). Devyn Ivankovich posted the shutout in goal.

ROWING

Junior rowers from Coeur d’Alene Rowing Association and Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association of Port Angeles, Wash., faced each other for the first time for a friendly competition during the 2017 Head of the Pend Oreille Regatta. These two teams made up the majority of the 60 juniors that participated in this years regatta. Juniors from the Rockies Rowing Club, Nelson Rowing and Pend Oreille Rowing and Paddling Association completed the field.

The Masters rowing group experienced the return of the Nelson Rowing. In total there were seven groups present. The regatta had 45 entries, which is the largest number of entries in its seven-year history.

The water was flat and fast with some times for the 1,700-meter course less than seven minutes.
