Courtesy photo The Chargers seventh-grade Junior Tackle football team completed a perfect season with a 42-0 victory over second-place Timberlake for the league and city championship. Maddix Maciosek ran the opening kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown. Maddix was also the game’s leading rusher with 125 yards and another touchdown. Zach Johnson rushed for 35 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Sophia Richey also added a score. With tough passing conditions Varick Meredith scored on a 75-yard pass play from Kolton Mitchell. The Charger defense allowed just 2 first downs in the game. The Chargers are now undefeated over 3 years with a record of 21-0. Courtesy photo Team Real Life wrestlers were busy the weekend of Oct. 21. Several TRL wrestlers traveled to Las Vegas to participate in the Nuway Freakshow tournament, joining over 3,500 other top-flight wrestlers from several states. This was a two-day tournament held Oct. 21-22. Brelane Huber placed first in the Elite High School Girls Division, earning not only the first-place medal but a championship singlet as well. Also placing at the Freakshow were Braydon Huber, fourth in the 18u Elite Division; Matthew Hamilton, fifth and Rider Seguine fifth. Other Team Real Life wrestlers traveled to Bonners Ferry for the kick-off tournament of the 2017 North Idaho Wrestling League series, on Oct. 21. Yankoff threw for 285 yards and 4 TDs and gained 88 yards rushing on Friday. Coeur d’Alene beat Madison 66-22 in the quarterfinal round of the state 5A playoffs.

Courtesy photo The Sting Timbers FC ’05 boys red soccer team ended the fall season with a 4-1 win on Saturday, against FC Spokane - Cooper at Canfield Middle School. Sting goals were scored by Cooper Prohaska, Landon Lee, Nate Wyatt and Caden Thompson, and Miles Taylor had five saves in goal. The Sting ended PSPL Premier fall league play with a 6-3-1 record. Sting Timbers ’04 boys red: The Sting played a doubleheader on Saturday, defeating Wenatchee FC 1-0 and United SC LaRaza 3-1. Bryce Allred scored three goals, Byron Anderson one. Jameson Elliot and Byron Anderson teamed in goal in the wins.

Sting Timbers U10 girls: The defeated Lewiston 2-1, with goals from Evelyn Bowie and Rachel Corette. Goalkeeper Emma Singleton had 9 saves in the victory.

Sting Timbers FC Red ’05 Girls girls: The Sting finished the season with a 5-0 win against Spokane Shadow Ganner last weekend. Goals were scored by Jocelyn Dennis, Mira Crawford (assist by Abella Voigt), Mackenzie Goings, and Avery Waddington (2 goals). Mekare East-Peters preserved the shutout with a save on a penalty kick. STFC girls finished the fall season with a record of 8-2-1.

Sting Timbers FC boys ’03 Red: Last Saturday, the Sting Timbers finished their fall season with a 12-0 win over FC Spokane B03 Valdez. Chris Swider led STFC with 4 goals and 1 assist. Cooper Proctor added 4 goals. Walker Jump had 3 goals and 2 assists. Quinn Clovis had 1 goal. Miles Jones had 2 assists. Nate Durocher and Boston Robinson each had 1 assist. Tyler Allred and Boston Robinson combined in goal for the shutout.

Sting Timbers FC boys ’06 Red: The Sting Timbers beat Endeavor FC 16-2 on Saturday. Haidyn Jonas led STFC with 5 goals and 2 assists. Max Entzi had 3 goals and 3 assists. Kason Pintler and Max Cervi-Skinner each had 3 goals and 1 assist. Connor Jump had 1 goal and 5 assists. Jacob Molina had 1 goal. Braden Latscha was in goal for STFC.
