Elaine G. Stanley, 85

Elaine G. Stanley, 85, passed away on Oct. 30, 2017, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

She was born in Norristown, Pa., to Helen and Melvin Garlick on Nov. 5, 1931. She graduated from Norristown High School in 1949 and married her childhood sweetheart, Eugene Frank Stanley, in February, 1952. She was a housewife and mother of six children, and later a grandmother to 12. Elaine was always very involved in the various churches she belonged to over the years, serving as sunday school superintendent and elder at Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania, Pioneer Club leader at Grace Bible Fellowship in Graterford, Pa., and grade school art instructor for Grace Fellowship Presbyterian Church’s day school in Gulf Shores, Ala. In her retirement years she homeschooled several grandchildren, and after moving to Coeur d’Alene to live with her daughters, volunteered at Liberty Lake Municipal Library (WA), teaching arts and crafts to children and founding a needlework society for adults.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, who passed away in 1982.

She is survived by her sister, Beverly Koch; her children, Pamela Mogen and her husband, Michael Mogen, Cynthia Kneeream and her husband, James Kneeream, Lynn Stanley, Eugene Stanley Jr. and his wife, Maryan, Todd Stanley, and Scott Stanley; and her grandchildren: Nathan Todd, Marcus Todd, Zachary Todd, August Stanley Sukenik, Ian Stanley, Jeremy Stanley, Ginger Stanley Volz, Rebecca Stanley Neiman, Cody Stanley, Joshua Stanley, Tarah Young and Shane Kneeream.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, 720 E. Poplar Ave. in Coeur d’Alene, with Pastor Stuart Bryan officiating.

Burial will take place on Nov. 18, 2017, at Riverside Cemetery, West Norriton, Pa., followed by a reception at Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church in Jeffersonville. Memorials may be given to Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church.

Elaine’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks and affection to Hospice of North Idaho, the saints of Trinity Church, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, her various doctors, physician assistants and nurses at Kootenai Health Hospital and the ladies of the Liberty Lake Needlework Society.
