Alberta Joyce Moore, ‘Jo,’ 78

Alberta Joyce Moore, “Jo”, 78, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho passed away Oct. 14, 2017, at Bristol Heights Assisted Living in Coeur d’Alene. Jo was born on July 9, 1939 in Eureka, Calif., to John B. Blackstone and Elizabeth (Humble) Blackstone. She grew up in Reseda, Calif. Jo met James Evert Moore and they married on June 27, 1965. They had five children: Shari Lee Sasser, Steven Jack Moore, Susan Gail Trindle, Sandra Kathleen Moore and Scott Carson Moore.

Jo is survived by her sister, Lillian Patricia Dearmore (Pat); son-in-law, Daniel Sasser; daughter-in-law, Karen Moore; daughter, Susan Trindle and husband, Tim Trindle; daughter, Sandra Moore; son, Scott Moore; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and many children who needed a home throughout her life.

This woman’s accomplishments could not be measured in worldly values; money, gold, or prestige. Her greatest accomplishment was a loving home. She gave freely to all in need, a loving heart, a sympathetic ear, many hugs and one hell of a good meal. She was also a great sounding board, with a stern look, straight talk and a firm hand. She always seemed to know exactly what was needed. She had many gifts as an artist, cook and seamstress, of which she willingly shared. A magician with a needle and thread the wonders she would produce were not created for money but for a smile on a loved one’s face. Everything she did was to make those around her feel happy, safe, and welcomed. Her legacy is that the generations whom felt her love will live on sharing what they have learned from this loving and caring woman, simply called Jo.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017 at Yates Funeral Home – Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814. Please visit Jo’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at www. yatesfuneralhomes.com.
